Ching Chong! Asians in the Library Song (Response to UCLA’s Alexandra Wallace)

I’m sure many of you have heard this song by now. Her video wasn’t the only one that went viral. If you haven’t, take a listen to Jimmy’s response to UCLA Girl’s rant. It’s 20 kinds of awesome. Enjoy! :-)

UCLA Girl: Dropping Out, a Blog, and Jersey Shore?

Holy Cannoli! Alexandra Wallace is dropping out of UCLA!!

Here’s her letter:

In an attempt to produce a humorous YouTube video, I have offended the UCLA community and the entire Asian culture. I am truly sorry for the hurtful words I said and the pain it caused to anyone who watched the video. Especially in the wake of the ongoing disaster in Japan, I would do anything to take back my insensitive words. I could write apology letters all day and night, but I know they wouldn’t erase the video from your memory, nor would they act to reverse my inappropriate action.

I made a mistake. My mistake, however, has lead to the harassment of my family, the publishing of my personal information, death threats, and being ostracized from an entire community. Accordingly, for personal safety reasons, I have chosen to no longer attend classes at UCLA.

Alexandra Wallace

But that’s not all! According to Daddy Wallace, Alexandra wants to start her own blog. The rant wasn’t supposed to be a one-time deal. She intended to shoot more videos.

UCLA Student who Posted Anti-Asian Viral Rant is from Fair Oaks

Daddy Wallace is beaming with pride. He posted on his Facebook page, “She’s asking for domain suggestions for ‘Asians on their cellphones in the library!’ She’s shooting videos as I write.” He also wrote that she was going to be an audience member at the Jersey Shore Reunion Show.

This must be the proudest moment in a father’s life. A skanky daughter who insults Asians around the world and is driven to drop out. Her skanky modeling pictures surface. And being cast for the audience of a skanky MTV show? It’s almost overwhelming. Someone hand him a tissue. I think his eyes are welling up.

Well, now we know why she’s all f’ed up. An idiot tree doesn’t produce geniuses.

If she starts a blog, she will have an instant audience. Those who support her – yes, they’re out there under rocks and in swamps – will become her following. Others will just look at it like most people do with train wrecks. You can’t not look.

My message to Alexandra: Keep the momentum going. Maybe publish one more from the bunker of shame. Stay well hidden, though, because I think there’s a fatwā on your bleached blonde head. Milk the 15 minutes for all it’s worth. If your popularity starts waning, you can always accidentally leak a sex tape.

Die, UCLA Girl? Really?

Threats over Anti-Asian Rant May Force UCLA Student to Skip Exams

Death threats? Are you kidding me? I can understand being pissed off – seething with anger even. But some want her questionably-blonde head on a platter. Come on people. She gave a seriously weak apology (lack of a spokesperson), but most sane people just want her to shut up and maybe go away. Not die.

There’s still Freedom of Speech in this country. It even applies to ranting from a repugnant bleached blonde who looks more like a porn star than a student. The young and dumb speaking is covered, too.

Because of these threats, police arranged for her to take her finals elsewhere. Someone leaked where that location was. Now, they rescheduled her finals. I guess it’s postponement for atonement. Work on a real apology, and start considering out-of-state schools, Alexandra.

If she didn’t receive these threats, I believe that she should have taken her final exams without any special consideration. Facing the music is humbling. She can feel the ramifications of opening her big mouth on YouTube. We’re all responsible for what we say, and she should pay for it.

But not with her life. That should be a given.

UCLA Girl Apologizes from Bunker

UCLA Police Eye Threats over Anti-Asian Video

Looks like the YouTube ranting UCLA Girl received threats and has gone underground. From the bunker of shame, Alexandra Wallace told the campus newspaper, The Daily Bruin:

“Clearly the original video posted by me was inappropriate. I cannot explain what possessed me to approach the subject as I did, and if I could undo it, I would. I’d like to offer my apology to the entire UCLA campus. For those who cannot find it within them to accept my apology, I understand.”

She is a poli-sci major, which usually means law school aspirations. Does she have political ambitions? If so, she did pretty well in her apology, considering she has no spokesperson.

My message to Alexandra:

Stay in the bunker for a couple days to think about your next move. I am a UC alumna, so we both know that when the Chancellor has to respond publicly about your screw up, you’re screwed. I’m not sure if you’ll be disciplined, but you’ll see that the infamy itself is quite a burden.

I have many years of experience in observing scandals. In my self-professed expert opinion, you have two options:

1. If you’re looking to milk your 15 minutes of infamy, the modeling photos that surfaced (like the one above) may be your ticket. If you get offers from magazines, choose Playboy. That’s your best bet, and you might get a reality show out of it. I can see it now. VH1: Alexandra Goes to Charm School. Your classmates are all Asian girls. I picture Lucy Liu as the Head Mistress. Start dropping hints to Playboy yourself, or quietly get an agent from the bunker. Remember, the clock is ticking. 14:59, 14:58…

2. If you want to go back to living a normal life, you’ll have to pray that UCLA students have a short memory. If it gets to be too much, you may have to transfer to a college out of state. I suggest dyeing your hair. Maybe even consider changing your name.

Whichever you choose, for God’s sake, stay off YouTube!!
