Ooooh good point about seeking/hearing stories. I don’t like him. Maybe that’s why I am extra receptive to stories like these.
Make believe I’m a Romney supporter during election season? My Liberal card would be permanently revoked. Any other time, I’d probably get a stern warning.

Good point about no perfect people. He’s a bully, though. I’d take “not perfect,” but I won’t take “not even decent.” If he truly doesn’t remember, he could have said, “I don’t remember doing that, but if I did, oh my God I am so sorry. There’s no excuse for that, but I can assure you I’m not that person today.” See? That would be what a decent person would say.

It’s not about shifting focus because the focus always comes back to the economy – with jobs and consumer confidence reports. Those come out all the time, and Mitt can (and does) comment on it. Stories like these give more information about him. Sadly, my respect for him is rapidly declining as stories like these come out.

When I look at the people supporting him it strikes me that most of them seem to want to bully the country into accepting their worldview. They certainly don’t have any persuasive argument working for them, hence they view lying and cheating to get their way and win elections as a legitimate exercise. Or as Romney would put it, “Lying for the Lord,” with Romney as the Lord of his followers.
