I have different perspective on this on .. and one that I haven’t seen. I cringed when I heard the quote. When it continued getting air time and after hearing the pundits, I had to find out for myself … so instead of reading the opinions, I listened to the speech … in its entirety … and in the end, instead of cringing, I conclude that it’s being overplayed. At worst, not the best metaphor, but in context, a different meaning than what appears to be.

Nonetheless, I like your “What if Mitt Romney said it” take.

It always makes me smile during elections…if they could find a way to make the comment “the sky’s blue” they would….no matter what he said he was gonna be the butt of a conserv attack……and this will not be last time…..
