Before watching Real Time with Bill Maher tonight, I had no idea who this Conservative “rising star” was. So I did a little digging. Here she was on the Overtime segment in October 2010:
After watching that, I’m completely intimidated by her intellectual prowess (couldn’t even type that with straight face). She is a new CNN political “analyst,” radio talk show host, and Tea Party leader. She’s beautiful, young, (31) has this ballsy, goth vibe, and a Bible verse tattoo on her wrist: Ephesians 6:12-14
Watching her reminded me of something I’ve read a lot on political forums, the Yahoo! Comment Section, and blogs. It always pisses me off.

- Why do people think liberal women are so ugly?
- Smart…OK, aside from Condi Rice, Google:
1. Palin, Couric interview
2. O’Donnell debate
3. Bachmann gaffes
They’re definitely attractive women, but they don’t seem like the Brightest Bulbs on Broadway™ (doninmass).
So when you have this match-up:
Dana Loesch, college dropout vs. Rachel Maddow, Rhodes Scholar
There’s no question who I’m jealous of. Hint: It ain’t the Conservative Christian rising star with the potty mouth.

A lot of these women are not smart in their policy aptitude. They are attractive, clever and good public speakers but don’t handle the complexities of office well at all and as a result do not make good leaders. Too many of them are former beauty queens. They may have appealing notions but they lack an depth on how these notions can be applied in realistic and practical terms.
Looks do tend to be a measure by how people vote. If the candidate is attractive and a good public speaker we get misled in to believing this translates into political savvy and one who is able to stand tough on critical issue during tough times. Clearly Palin lacked this and for her to pretend to be anyone’s mentor is laughable.

Exactly. It’s the lack of depth. I’m not deeply knowledgeable about any one subject, but I’m not going to pretend I am or worse….think I’m capable of being the VP of the United States.

I think it speaks more to the superficial minds of those who make the comment in the first place…………they are judging first and foremost on looks, with policy coming in a distant second. “That Palin doesn’t know shit about the economy or the world, but DAMN! can she bring the MILF’y goodness!”. I guess that means all the conservative men who hate Obama are really just jealous of his good looks, brains, and his stereotypically large Mandingo Love Stick……it has NOTHING to do with his politics.
Get over yourselves, conservatives…….. we don’t like your women because of their ideology, not their looks.

I can definitely see the attraction to wealth and power. Qualifications mean more in the long run than just being attractive and articulate – more so for a politician than a pundit.

I should have been more specific: attraction TO…wealth and power…by certain women who think they may have a shot at it…being admitted into the club…even a seat at the head table.
And jumping on the teaparty bandwagon looks pretty easy, for anyone who feels they don’t have to give up anything really valuable to buy the ticket.

It’s just further proof that most conservatives (hell, maybe most voters) don’t vote on the actual issues, but rather on superficial qualities. When we had the massive Dem sweep in 2008 the only local Dem judge candidates that were not voted in were the ones with foreign names. It’s all very disheartening, really, to realize that the average American is a intellectually limited, ignorant, and shallow.

You know I’d settle for an American voting public who wouldn’t vote for someone just like them. In 2008, I ran into that statement a lot. I thought to myself, “Dang, if I’m voting for POTUS, I sure as hell would want him/her to be way better than me. I don’t care if he’s someone I can just “hang out and have a beer with.” It is nice when they’re down to earth, but first and foremost, they’d have to be superior.

I like that one.
The woman is definitely bright. But I’m not quite certain why you feel the need to disparage her by insinuating that a Rhodes Scholar, like Maddow, is automatically more intelligent. Clearly you have zero supporting evidence.
Maddow is smart, but I’ve seen Buchanan wipe the floor with her more than a few times, and Buchanan is no Rhodes Scholar.
